[This is very distinctly not a phone call but a voicemail, a message that has to be opened later, left at around 10:30 PM on December 17th (better known as That Day Eridan Came Back From Resident Evil Event). The voice is unsurprisingly Kanaya's!]
Hey, Roslyn. I just wanted to let you know that I did what you said to do, for almost two whole Earth weeks, and it was almost working. Then while I wasn't looking [a little emotion, which she's actively repressing, bleeds into her voice here] Eridan got turned into a zombie and killed by his other ex-girlfriend.
[Actively steeling herself now.] So I think I'm going back to what I was doing before. That's all. Bye. [Click.]
[ Well, that was at once an enlightening and a difficult message, and all in all she doesn't know how she feels. Not good about it all. It's not that she feels responsible for Eridan, except that she does, somewhat. Can't help that.
When you die here you come back. That makes it somewhat better, but not good enough. She waits a long moment, replays the message, and then calls back. ]
[THIS WOULD BE BETTER FOR ROSLYN TO PICK UP ACTUALLY instead of letting go to voicemail... she's calling at 10 ante meridiem for once instead, on January 20th.]
I couldn't find you the whole time we were on mission but I thought it was important for you to know--I kicked the habit as soon as we left, and so with that established there are some other things I think we should discuss.
[ when the video comes through, it's a standalone message, rather than a direct call; there's no connection. ]
[ riku is still for a moment before smiling, checking the video function. ]
Hey.
Sorry this is such short notice--but the Initiative gave me a mission this morning, and it looks like I'll be gone for a few weeks. [ he brings a hand up to his lips, thinking. ] I should be back sometime soon... so don't worry.
[ his eyes come back up to the camera. ] Don't have too much fun without me, alright?
[ no more responses will come from the tablet, though that's typical, since they're expected to be left behind during missions. ]

Hey. It's Blue Beetle. I was just talking to Chloe - one of the people in charge of this whole mess? Anyway, she's saying that they'll at least check out the Transporter's records so we can make sure that none of our people are stranded anywhere dangerous.
[Does it sound naive, believing anything these people say? He's not sure, but it's worth a shot. He's not actually using the tablet right now, so he can't send her the conversation manually, which is why he says:] Scarab, send her a link?
[On cue, she will be directed to this conversation. Thanks, Scarab.]
Chloe means well and she's not a malicious person - I doubt she's lying about that. That's definitely good to know, thank you. Keep me updated if you can.
I thought you should be aware that Luke Skywalker was found in the control room for the base's door systems. At the time he claimed to be trying to solve the problems that were keeping them offline, and I had no evidence of his intentions.
Considering some recent activity of his on the network, I wanted to let you know.
He's been arrested for assault and is being kept in custody. We're trying to determine how get him to return her powers, but there is no way to do so without his cooperation and he's very short on that.
I've missed the last few days of this mess, unfortunately [Dante is so lucky post-traumatic amnesia means he doesn't know who managed to give him a concussion] - but do we have security patrols going at all?
1. All of my prisoners have received death threats. Security will be tightened again but it's already been fairly tight.
2. It's funny how nobody has cared about the impossibility of a fair trial for the mutineers but Sonya telling the network the facts of what Jesse has done is being considered as such a terrible thing.
3. Good. He's either an extremely good manipulator or completely psychotic, potentially both. Either way I can't release him.
[ riku's... not sure what he's doing. after reading sofiya's entry, he ... feels a little numb. somehow, this feels like it's happening a world away; he's not sure what he can do as a master, as a keybearer, as part of the police, or as a person. all he knows is that the moment he heard about someone's powers being taken away, his head swam with a familiar kind of terror he'd only experienced when he'd been one of the kidnapped by the united earth. after a good moment; ]
I saw what Sofiya said on the network, today. [ he breathes out slowly, because experience is telling him that this is a bad idea, that he might lash out, but he knows the other mutineers aren't having the best of time either. but then, none of them have powers, do they? jesse's dangerous. he's chewing the inside of his cheek. ]
If anyone tries to do what she's asking them to do... if they have powers--how're they gonna be protected from him?
It would have to be over the network, he's not going to be receiving almost any visitors.
However, I need you to stay at least 10 feet away from Jesse's cell at all times and if something occurs with him while you are on duty call in back up to handle it.
Just Small or Roslyn works perfectly well, Caspian.
[ she just sounds tired, really ]
We're going to be vetting prisoners more tightly - still need agreement from both parties to meet but they all need to be run by me as well. Still searching for weapons but we'll also be asking about any other abilities. Guards in the room itself rather than just outside.
[It's too risky to go digging for the guard's schedule, but Chloe has managed to piece together enough clues (listening in at the door, prodding gently at Kaji) to feel out when the swaps occur. Not always who's on if they're quiet, though she knows the sound of Roslyn's voice like the back of her hand, so (it's a risk, it's all a risk ) she waits till it slips in through the seams in the door to send out a text. Waits impatiently for a response. ]
[ She doesn't bother to text back, just keys in her ID and opens the door, stepping a little bit into the room. If she looks exhausted, it's because she is. ]
So Recent Network Activity Has Me Somewhat Confused Is Eleven Days Seriously Considered An Unreasonable Length Of Time For Imprisonment I Just Want To Ensure There Is No Misunderstanding Here
